Who is Therron Fowler?
When a new artist hits the scene, adjectives like fresh and unique frequently get thrown around when, in many instances, it’s more hype than truth. But that’s definitely not the case when it comes to Therron Fowler.
He’s a singer/songwriter who truly embodies the honesty and fresh organic soulfulness, It’s rare these days to find a young artist who puts everything on the table. Who puts his whole heart into his music and passionately sings of his love for Jesus Christ. Therron Fowler is that rare find, who is on his way to becoming one of the most fascinating Contemporary Christian/Inspirational artists of his time. With his exceptional songwriting, sensational voice, and his compelling debut single “Walk With Me” there is absolutely no stopping Therron’s tremendous talent and natural star quality.
Born in Baltimore, Maryland, by way of Glen Burnie where he was raised. His mother, Joyce Seibles recognized his gift and encouraged him to sing at the tender age of 3 at his grandmothers church.”They would stand me up on tables with a mic and make me sing”. It wasn’t too long before the young protege would travel and tour, opening for his father, the late Gospel Recording Sensation E. Ricky Fowler. “Watching my dad is what first inspired me to sing” says Fowler who was also inspired by other gospel greats such a Kim Burrell, and Israel Houghton, and even R&B/Soul royalty Aretha Franklin and Whitney Houston and rock and roll giants like Stevie Wonder and The Beatles. By Age 16 he would go on to sing behind Cuba Gooding Sr. Lead singer of The Main Ingredient and Philadelphia Soul Artist Jean Carne and Michael Henderson. “My dad would always encourage me to sing solo but I had no desire. Singing background for various Artist became my new niche and made me very comfortable to the point of complacency.”
However it was too hard to suppress that dynamic voice and undeniable talent. In the summer of 2008, his father passed away. “I remember feeling broken and lost” says Fowler. “I lost my zeal for singing. I was often reminded of how much I sounded like my dad and everything became a reminder even my voice which was too surreal for me but God really had a plan for me.” In 2009 I trust God regarding my solo career, continuing my fathers legacy and identifying who I am and what a legacy of my own would look like.
God has truly opened many doors for the anointed singer and continues to make room for his gifts.
